Overview of thin-film thermoelectric products from nanoCoolers

nanoCoolers offers systems utilizing advanced thermoelectrics

Thin-film thermoelectrics

The thin-film thermoelectrics provide higher cooling densities and smaller form factors than ever achieved in commercial solid-state refrigeration. These enable higher system performance in existing thermoelectric applications and enable new applications previously unachievable, thereby promising to revolutionize micro-refrigeration applications.
nanoCoolers' thin-film thermoelectrics are chip-scale refrigeration products that provide high-cooling density and small form factors. Based on our proprietary thin-film, wafer-scale technology, we are able to scale down the length of the thermoelectric elements, thereby providing much higher cooling flux densities. With the higher cooling densities, our thermoelectrics can be made smaller while cooling the same heat load. By more closely matching the cooling density of the thermoelectric to the power density of the heat source when integrated into existing thermoelectric applications, such as laser temperature control, system power efficiencies can be significantly improved. In some cases, the power dissipation of an optical laser module can be decreased by over 50%. Beyond existing thermoelectric applications, the higher cooling density and smaller size of nanoCoolers' thin-film thermoelectric enables new applications previously unachievable.
